The cake went down well and the weekend was fab - sun, swimming in the neighbour's pool and, less wisely considering the water temperature, the sea. All good - just a shame it had to end...
Thanks! Yes, I made it - it was a lemon sponge soaked in lemon and limoncello syrup and layered with lemon curd and lemon buttercream. The recipe is from Romantic Cakes by Peggy Porschen.
